“A” एक article है। इंग्लिश भाषा में तीन articles होते हैं A, An और The और इन्ही तीनो में से एक article “a” के बारे में आज इस पोस्ट में हम चर्चा कर रहे हैं।
A और An दोनों का हिंदी अर्थ एक ही होता है पर हिंदी वाक्यों को इंग्लिश में अनुवाद करने के लिए इन दोनों में से किसी एक सही article यानि या तो A या फिर An उस वाक्य के अनुसार लगाया जाता है। articles मुख्य रूप से दो प्रकार के होते हैं-
- Definite Article – The
- Indefinite Article – A, An
A और An को indefinite article कहते हैं क्योकि इनका प्रयोग एकवचन के किसी अनिश्चित व्यक्ति, वास्तु, स्थान से पहले होता है। जबकि The को definite article कहते हैं क्योकि इसका प्रयोग एकवचन के किसी निश्चित व्यक्ति, वास्तु या स्थान से पहले होता है।

Use Of A And An (A के उपयोग)
नोट:- सबसे पहले आप यह नोट कर लीजिये की किसी भी sentence में article यानि a, an या the तभी लगता है जब उसके साथ कोई noun (संज्ञा) हो। यानि sentence में noun है तो article भी लगेगा ही लगेगा चाहे जरुरत के अनुसार या grammar के अनुसार जो भी article लगाना पड़े और अगर sentence में noun नहीं है तो article भी नहीं लगता है
ध्वनि या साउंड (sound) के आधार पर an या a का प्रयोग किया जाता है। यानि a या an लगाने से पहले हम उस शब्द को उचारित करते हैं, पढ़ते हैं जिसके लिए article लगाना होता है। आइये अब जानते हैं किस साउंड के साथ कौन सा article यूज़ किया जाता है –
A:- Consonant Sound (व्यंजन ध्वनि) के साथ “a” का उपयोग किया जाता है। अगर आपको consonant और vowel की जानकारी नहीं है तो थोडा सा इसके बारे में जान लेना जरुरी है तभी आगे आपको समझ में आएगा।
इंग्लिश वर्णमाला में टोटल 26 letter (अक्षर) होते हैं A से Z तक। इनमे से 5 letter a, e, i, o, u vowel होते हैं और बाकि के बचे सभी 19 letter consonant होते हैं। इन्ही consonant से सुरु होने वाले noun के साथ “a” लगाया जाता है।

I have an book (मेरे पास एक कलम है) – Wrong
I have a book (मेरे पास एक किताब है) – Right
ऊपर दी गयी उदाहरन पे ध्यान दीजिये। दोनों में हिंदी वाक्य एक ही है पर इंग्लिश में एक में an का प्रयोग किया गया है और एक में a का। ऊपर बताई गयी नियम के अनुसार a का प्रयोग किया हुवा sentence ही सही है क्योकि sentence में दिया गया noun book है और book“b” letter से सुरु होता है।
