Use Of Had
1. Possession (पास होना, रखना) : जब आपके पास या किसी अन्य व्यक्ति के पास भूतकाल में कोई वास्तु, चीज़ थी तो यह बताने के लिए had का use किया जता है। बस यहाँ ये ध्यान देना है की इसमे वाक्यों से ये बताया जाता है की किसी के पास कोई वास्तु पहले कभी भी थी पर अब नहीं है। जैसे-
- मेरे पास घड़ी थी – I had a watch
- उसके पास छाता था – He had umbrella
- राधा के पास कलम थी – Radha had a pen
2. Past Perfect tense : Had का उपयोग past perfect tense के वाक्यों में helping verb के रूप में किया जाता है। Past perfect tense में वाक्य के अंत में चूका था, चुकी थी, चुके थे, या था, यी थी, लिया था. ली थी आदि लगे थे। और इन वाक्यों के इंग्लिश ट्रांसलेशन का स्ट्रक्चर इस प्रकार होता है- S + had + v3 + Obj.. आइये कुछ example देखें-
- उसने खाना खा लिया था – He had eaten
- मैं सो चूका था – I had slept
- तुमने मुझे मारा था – You had beaten me.
